Here is a little about Floyd Ingram:
I am a single (never been married and do not have children), heterosexual, African American male who is the College Web Administrator at Benedict College in Columbia, SC. Previously, I worked at Alabama State University (Montgomery, AL), Johnson C. Smith University (Charlotte, NC), Gary Public Library (Gary, IN), Winston-Salem State University (Winston-Salem, NC) and Livingstone College (Salisbury, NC). I was born in Coatopa and grew up with my grandparents in York, AL (click here and locate red star on map); my father, sisters and brothers live in Detroit, MI (mother is deceased). I received my diploma from Sumter County High School (York, AL -- 1974), BA degree from Jarvis Christian College (Hawkins, TX -- 1980) and MSLS degree from Atlanta University (now Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA -- 1982). I am a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Some of my hobbies and social interests include photography, bicycling, cultural festivals, concerts, sport events, community activities & movies.
These words describe me: analytical, independent-minded, level-headed, strong social consciousness, adventurous, rational, organizer, planner, diplomatic, moral, harmonious with others but not too close, disciplined, good work ethic, easy to know privately/not easy to know publicly, mysterious, cool, entertainer, humorous and has great resilience. On October 12, 2002, I was one of ten inductees into the Pioneer Hall of Fame at the Ninth Annual Pioneer Hall of Fame Banquet at Jarvis Christian College (other 2002 inductees were Anita Baker, James T. Branch, Sr., Henry E. Byrd, Mary L. Clift, Delores Franklin Fambles, Otis Joseph Lloyd, Jean Times Turner, Jessie Daniels Turner, and Bert Overtus Whitfield, Jr.). According to Dr. Sebetha Jenkins, JCC President, "The induction into the Pioneer Hall of Fame provides an avenue to give special recognition to such persons as these who have made significant contributions to society at large, their communities and Jarvis Christian College."
Sumter County High School Wildcats (my alma mater) repeated as State 3A Basketball Champions 2005 in Alabama. They were State Basketball Champions previously in 1988 (4A), 1994 (4A), 1998 (4A), 1999 (4A) and 2004 (3A). Arch-rival Livingston High School were State Basketball Champions in 1987 (4A) and 2003 (4A).
