WORK HISTORY

2000-Current College Web Administrator, Benedict College

Responsible for daily maintenance of the college's web site, updating web content, creating web graphics, templates and site design, tracking, compiling, analyzing, and distributing web statistics. Ensure that faculty and staff get access to the web and work with college departments and programs to update their content. Maintain the library management system web module and coordinates implementation and management of other web portals.

1997-2000 Director of Library Services, Benedict College

Responsible for defining the library mission, goals and objectives; planning, developing, implementing and evaluating services to support the academic curriculum; planning, directing and implementing on-going efforts to advance and integrate the use of technology; and developing, recommending and executing library policies and procedures. Other responsibilities included serving on Information Technology and Strategic Planning Committees of the College, recommending new personnel, evaluating the performance of library and media personnel, attending meetings and conferences, seeking additional funding through grant proposals and encouraging faculty to suggest resources for inclusion in the library collection.

1995-1997 Coordinator of Technical Services, Alabama State University

Managed the Technical Services Department which functions included ordering and processing library service materials, and maintaining records of collections; produced policies and procedures manual, served on committees and assisted the Library Director.

1990-1995 Head of Technical Services, Johnson C. Smith University

Planned, organized and supervised the functions of Technical Services, cataloged library service materials, implemented and managed the library computer network (Geac Advance software and the IBM RS/6000 minicomputer), served on the Faculty Senate and as a liaison between library and faculty. 

1989-1990 Serials Librarian, Alabama State University

Supervised staff, maintained and upgraded the quality of the serials collection and equipment, maintained records of serials in computer database, and provided bibliographic instructions to individuals and groups.

1987-1989 Head of Technical Services, Gary Public Library

Planned, organized and supervised the cataloging and technical materials processing functions, maintained system collection statistics; directed and oversee the computer operations; and managed the barcoding project, and personal computers, terminals and accessories.
